Random from paintings

WARNING: Exposure to extreme levels of inspiration can often produce varying responses including butterfly flutters, gut-wrenching emotion, shortness of breath, and boggling of mind. Proceed with caution.

Budding by Sya
Budding
Created in Apophysis 7X. If you would like to see how this was sculpted, I documented the journey here: www.facebook.com/StacyReed/med…

I started with a very basic fractal of 4 Julian transforms, with different powers. And I played with the triangles a bit until I got something resembling a Julian version of Escher's Infinite borders that made pretty ruffles. Then inverted. So if you really want to have your mind blown, consider that each of the undetectable tiny points on each of the ruffles creating the petals - though it might look like a real boundary - is actually the pattern going on forever into infinity, ever smaller, ever closer.  Escher style. Dig.

Iris Nebula by Sya
Iris Nebula
I had an eye exam. And I read that quote Stephen Hawking made about the borders of black holes and that reminded me of the Coastline Paradox, which then caused me to open up an old seed from the Escher's Infinite Circle series. If you recall, the center starts out large and each iteration outward becomes smaller and smaller until finally, the circle boundary appears to be a line... actually, it's the pattern going out into all directions infinitely. How mind-blowing-ly beautiful is that?

Chaotica Scribbles by Sya
Chaotica Scribbles
I challenged myself to create something beautiful from an ugly random Chaotica seed. One of the things I love most about the app is exploring endless color variations.

For 10+ years, it's been my pleasure to contribute to the fractal community with resources, tutorials, and administration work behind the scenes. Now I'm entering a phase in my career where I'm earning more from my traditional paintings and sculptures so lately, I create fractal art more for my own entertainment and relaxation than for the enjoyment of others. If you happen to find art in my gallery beautiful or symbolic, that's a bonus! If you like it, feel free to add it to your collection. :)

It's hard to express the gratitude and appreciation I have for all of you in the community who have taken the time to comment or befriend me. Though I'm sincerely thankful, I do realize that time is short and precious, and I would rather you spend your time here at dA looking through the FRACTALS of budding artists - please go out and encourage them with your kind words as you have treated me so kindly. This is why I'm turning off comments for the fractals I share from here on out. Want to chat about Apophysis or inquire about using a fractal for your project, please send me a PM or find me at:
