Death by Sya

Watch
©2004-2017 Sya
The verse is by Walt Whitman. The flame created with Apophysis.

Maybe I've been a bit preoccupied with macabre thoughts lately.

Very powerful sya. As one who is not afraid of death i found a serenity inside this flame. Like you, there have been times in my life when i wondered what the point of it all was. But life has me and death will have us all in the end. Create, make the most of life, make something beautiful and live as well as you can in the time we all have given to us. The spirit in me salutes the spirit in you. cheers mate and well done.

Nice! I love "Dark stuff" and the imagery is definitely death. No one gets out of this life alive. Did Yogi say that? sound like something he would have said. :-)

Definitely death! When I saved the parameters, I first called Death to Purple!

I used to hate the color purple. But lately, it's been growing on me. It is my sisters favorite color, and I've been trying to find a nice flame to give to her for her birthday coming up.

Of course, this one didn't make the cut. But as soon as I saw those dark dreary tendrils forming as I pulled the triangle, dripping, almost reaching in a death like grip down the side like that, I knew I had something I liked

not corrupted... it's not really macabre (i don't see what's so horrific about it) but it's quite soothing i find... why is death so horrible? we percieve it so but it's just a new adventure... besides, the caption border coupled with the previous version doesn't make death sound so bad...

... serenity and peace never sounded so bad

The word "macabre" doesn't always have to mean horrifying... it can be macabre if it constitutes or includes a representation of death.

Which this is.

Perhaps death is a peaceful serenity, but I believe people are most afraid of death because usually it means pain, a fear of non-existance, and an unbelieving in the continuing existance of the spirit.

There have been times in my life when I would have welcomed death. It seemed a less painful route than going on living. To end it all... no more heartache, no more struggles, no more hurt and rejection... but is that really what a spirit needs, freedom from all pain? I don't believe in that any more. Life is worth living... and death, well, I hope it waits for me a litle while longer.

i agree... i would like death to come when it feels it needs to, not when i feel it needs to. pain and heartache and such are part of life, and i think our physical exhistance is part of our spirits personality... it grows as we grow, the difference though is that when we die it keeps on living.

well, i created this one by image capturing a lot of different stages of an Apophysis animated rotation script. Then I sized them all down in Photoshop and added my text. I used Uleads gif animating program to create the animated gif out of all the resized images.

It just takes practice... and a good eye, I guess. I'm not really sure I could teach you how to do it without encouraging you to practice and try things for yourself.

Well, I'm not even sure what I'm doing when I do it. All I really want to figure out is how to make the color more solid rather than having billions of little dots.

have you tried to use scripts? Moving the triangles around helps sometimes too.

Well, I have tried moving stuff. But unless I keep everything really tight, then it kinda defuses into those icky dots.
