This is somehow profoundly spiritual for me; I see some sort of enlightenment in it--a realization, a sudden connection with complete self-awareness.

Beautiful work.

Thank you... hearing your thoughts on this really means a lot to me. I feel the same way about it. To me it represents spiritual awakening which oddly enough, happened for me very suddenly at a time when I was leaving behind many old beliefs (superstitions?) regarding the religious doctrine I was brought up with.

It sort of reminds me of that as well. I don't know what doctrine you followed, but my father described a feeling like that when he switched from Orthodoxy to Buddhism, not being bound by a deity he felt a heightened self of self-awareness and responsibility. For me, it feels like peeling away from the norm, which tends to be deceived by human nature itself, our longing for some omnipotent deity to take our responsibility from us as a race. I think the feeling one achieves when breaking from this train of thought and accepting individuality and consequences for individual actions, and a connection with the own spirit instead of some higher spirit, is the feeling I get when I see this. I've never been able to say so much about a single work, especially of the fractal nature, but it envokes a large stir of philosophical thoughts in me, so I've favorited it twice (regular and wallpaper) and hope other people pull as much out of it as I did. This also reminds me of a work by bionic7 here on DA. He's a photomanipulator and one he did was of an angel in a similar positioned (but with relaxed, I believe upturned hands more toward his sides, looking up) and it gave a sort of opposite but equally spiritual feeling. . . Instead of breaking away from God and the norm, however, it's more of a feeling of reconcile and total acceptance. You should search for that image in his gallary. I'd love somebody to draw one of my characters in that sort of awakened position.

Sorry, it's the holidays and I'm sort of ranting on my second glass of wine. Take care.

Woah... I see the person-thing with the wings and the arms upraised, but...

Am I supposed to be seeing that scary demon-looking face right above it? The kind of goatish-looking one? :o It's grinning at me...
