Charm   Charm by Sya  aka Charmers aka Pinhead aka Squeaktoy aka Pudgers

Mike and I adopted Charm from the Humane Society.  She was a bit skittish, but very lovable and sweet.  Unfortunately, she was sick from the time she was a kitten.  One of the things I loved most about Charm was how whenever we were in the kitchen, she would try to get our attention by rolling around on the living room floor, striking poses with her feet.

This was her favorite pose.  Then she'd stick her tongue out and it was all over!  It always caused one of us to stop and rub her belly. She was a pudgy cat.  I used to call her Pudgers whenever she would grunt to get up in my lap.

She completely tore up the leather on Michael's vibrating chair but he never once rallied to get her declawed (thank you, hunny)! I'm just glad she never attacked his speakers!

She always waited patiently for our elder male cat to eat or drink before her.   When he gobbled up all his treats and went after hers, she never complained, just let him at it.

When the vet said there was nothing they could do for her condition and we tried everything else we could think of to help her, we had to make the decision.  So I agonized over it for a what seems like months now.

The Humane Society has a policy that if you are ever unable to continue caring for a pet that you adopted from them, you have to bring it back to their facility.  So I called and explained the situation and they told me to bring her in.   I had to agree when they said the most humane thing to do for her would be to put her to sleep.

While I was there, I noticed a sign that said for every one human baby born, 15 puppies and 45 kittens are born.  The shelter was over-populated and they were about to turn me down at the door when I arrived with yet another cat until they heard I was the one they talked to earlier on the phone.

It was painful to know that I was losing a friend and a sweet loving pet, but it also hurts to know that many of those animals never stand a chance.

Anyway, this is just my way of letting go of my sweet little Charmers.  We'll all miss you.  Goodbye.

I admire you for adopting your cat from the Humane Society, and for giving her a wonderful life for however long she was here on earth. You are an earth angel my friend.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I have tears too.
